plcSim is a web-based simulator for programmable logic controller (PLC) programs written to the IEC 61131-3 standard. It imports programs you supply, converts them to its own vendor-neutral internal representation, and executes that representation in its own scan engine so you can observe the logic behave.
It is a tool for learning, development, testing, and interoperability. The boxed notice above is not boilerplate: plcSim makes no real-time guarantees, carries no functional-safety certification, and is not suitable for controlling anything physical. Connecting it to real equipment is outside the scope of these Terms and entirely at your own risk.
You may use plcSim without an account. Guest sessions are capped — in concurrent count, scan rate, and lifetime — and are discarded automatically; nothing you do as a guest is saved.
Creating an account lets you save projects and settings. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the service or these Terms.
You keep all rights in the programs, source, tag data, and other content you upload or write. We claim no ownership. You grant PLCFLOW Technologies Inc. only the narrow permission needed to operate the service for you — to store your content, transmit it to your browser, and execute it in the simulator.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload programs you are contractually barred from disclosing, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
plcSim has a free plan and paid subscription plans. The free plan includes importing and running your own programs, with a per-session trial timer; paid plans remove the timer and add capacity and features, as described on the pricing page at the time you subscribe.
plcSim is provided on an "as available" basis with no uptime commitment. Simulation sessions live in the memory of a single server process: a deploy, restart, or crash ends running sessions, and unsaved work in a session is lost. Saved projects persist in the database, but you should keep your own copies of anything you care about.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that simulation results are accurate, complete, or that they match the behaviour of any physical controller. Simulation results must never be the sole basis for a decision affecting real equipment or human safety.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PLCFLOW Technologies Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use plcSim. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or CAD $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted.
If a third party brings a claim against PLCFLOW Technologies Inc. because of content you uploaded or shared, or because you broke sections 3 or 4 of these Terms, you agree to cover the costs and damages that claim causes us. This does not apply to claims caused by our own breach of these Terms.
If you share a project — for example through a view link — you are responsible for having the right to share it, and anyone with the link can see its contents, so share accordingly. If you believe content shared through plcSim infringes your rights, contact us at the address below with enough detail to identify it; we may remove shared content that violates these Terms or the law.
You can stop using plcSim, or delete your account, at any time; deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, and where practical we will say why. Download your programs before closing your account — you can download each one from the editor at any time, up to the moment of deletion. Sections that by their nature should survive — including 3 (your ownership), 7, 8, and 9 — survive termination.
plcSim reads file formats and displays instruction mnemonics associated with third-party automation vendors purely so that programs can be identified and interoperated with. It contains no third-party software, firmware, artwork, or documentation. Vendor names and marks are used nominatively — to describe what a file or instruction is — and imply no affiliation, endorsement, or sponsorship. See the notice at the foot of this page.
We may update these Terms. The date at the top reflects the current version, and material changes will be signalled in the app. If you have an account and a change is materially adverse to you, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use plcSim after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes — except that either party may seek injunctive relief wherever appropriate. If you use plcSim as a consumer, this section does not take away protections or forum rights that the law of your home jurisdiction grants you and does not allow you to waive.
